I don't know about you guys, but I'm forever casting about for pose references... especially when a certain masked someone and his lady have decided to test my abilities/patience. ;P

A lot of times I use comic books - the figures in them are already simplified, posed dramatically, and they have the added benefit of "romanticized" body proportions that look better to the human eye. The two comics I tend to use most are "V for Vendetta" (big surprise! ;)) drawn by David Lloyd and "1602", drawn by Andy Kubert.

In addition to these I do have other books, but I also like to use sources online in case I want to print something out and sketch directly onto an image.  Here are some of them:

Pose Maniacs - Japanese site, but English-speakers can still navigate it.  Has several thousand computer-generated poses that can be rotated as the artist needs.

Fantasy Art Resource Project
- A really basic introduction to figure drawing.  Starts with stick figures and gives good tips on conveying emotion through poses.

Neofox's  Drawing References & Resources - A journal entry by :iconneofox: with many good references for anatomical "problem" areas like hands and feet, as well as some nice drawing tutorials.

Human Anatomy for Artists - A large archive of pose photos.  Many body types and poses.  CAUTION: Not work-safe; has many nude poses.

I hope these were helpful - or at least entertaining!  :D
