V. The Hierophant

The Heirophant strives to create harmony and peace in the midst of a crisis. When things are going very wrong in the world, the Hierophant is the one who wades in, quiets the panic, and offers good, practical advice. He symbolizes a connection to the divine, which answers with a very human voice, never oblique or mysterious. The Hierophant finds comfort and worth with the spiritual side of life rather then the physical. The Hierophant depicts someone who is able to see through the superficial and get straight to the heart of the matter.

Reversed: In a reversed position the Hierophant represents superficiality and a lack of moral or spiritual truths. It signifies a militaristic or dogmatic attitude or a reliance on religious law rather then spiritual awareness. Reversed the Hierophant depicts a person who is rough, rigid, and only sees one path as being the sole correct answer.
