Artist's Comments

Finally got around to coloring this one. The original ink drawing can be seen here in my gallery. Some details changed along the way (hopefully for the better! ^^;)

Many, many thanks go to :iconpeahopeless:, and of course V and Evey for providing the inspiration. :-)

Media: watercolor, ink

Daily DeviationPortrait, colored by *FugueState. Many people have suggested this artist's V for Vendetta work, and I think today is an appropriate day to feature it! All of her work has tons of passion, and though this piece is different from most of her Vendetta work, it is classic, whimsical, beautiful and full of style. If you are a Vendetta fan, be sure to stop by and look at her entire gallery! (Featured by ^ArtisticAunJuli)

The shading on his clothing is just amazing, and I *still* love how their holding hands twice. :D
I'm also impressed by the color detail on the clover blossoms ... and yes, I approve strongly of the butterflies. ... Especially since they're coming out from beneath the clover *leaves*, which also have the V's on them. "Beneath the Leaves", anyone?

And yes, I know who brushed that dress off her shoulder, and it wasn't you. ;)

'We'll be ok' -- best three words ever heard

Remember, remember the Law of Three, because it applies to Them too, just as surely as you and me.
Motivation matters. Think about it
We-e-ell, to be fair, there was a reference image I used for the gown that had the "downstage" shoulder like that... I just made sure I didn't *fix* it. ;-)

Love the art-nuveau-ness of it all. And it's great seeing your color work, it's just as lovely as the black and white.

And the patrons and the actors too are unsure if the play is through,
and with sidelong looks await their cue but the frozen mask just smiles
Just Exquisite.

I hadn't really considered it until you mentioned it, believe it or not, but they do have a sort of Hades-and-Persephone vibe going here, don't they? (I'm a bit slow that way sometimes...) :-)
